Coronary Heart’s mission is to develop an international community of cardiac professionals whom all share a common goal in improving their work environment and skills for the benefit of improved patient care.
Cardiology HD Logo Explained
The eagle signifies independence, and with amazing eyesight and speed of flight can reach goals faster than the rest. The blue ball signifies the Earth, with no countries, bringing everybody closer without the judgment of race, colour, or political influences.

Mr Tim Larner
Director / Founder of Coronary Heart Publishing Ltd
Background: Bachelor of Science (Medical Imaging Technology). Previous cardiac radiographer manager at Epworth Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. Agency cardiac radiographer in over ten hospitals in the UK. International speaking experience. Radiation safety lecturer, plus lots more.
Interests: Outdoor adventure such as hiking and paragliding, video and photography, travel to scenic countries or destinations. I also hope to soon buy an Adventure Motorbike and start exploring Europe.
Magazine History: I love a good challenge!! I bought a book called "Starting and Running a Successful Newsletter or Magazine" and never looked back. I trained myself Adobe Creative Suite for the magazine design, and Dreamweaver for the website you are now viewing. I couldn't afford an expensive design team. The company though has certainly grown since I put the entire publication myself out of my single room, shoebox sized studio apartment in central London. |

Background: I qualified in 1987 and have worked in various general posts such as general medicine, eye theatre and hospice. I worked in A&E in Dundee from 1992-197 when I then moved to CCU at St Thomas` Hospital. While there, in 2000, I helped establish one of the first Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinics (RACPC) in the UK, this was before the NSF was produced which asked for such clinics to be set up.
I moved to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in 2001 and worked as a Chest Pain Nurse Specialist, running the RACPC there and auditing thrombolysis times.
I moved back up to Scotland in 2004. I was part of the SIGN group which developed our SIGN national stable angina guidelines and I am a Trustee of the Scottish Heart and Arterial Risk Prevention (SHARP) charity. |
