The Society for Cardiological Science and Technology (SCST) is the professional body for Cardiac Physiologists and Cardiographers. The Society for Cardiological Science and Technology was established in 1948 and has branches in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Council and Education Committee usually meet in London. The SCST has close links with the British Cardiovascular Society which represent the medical specialists in Cardiology. Annually the SCST undertakes to provide professional examinations for members. The SCST seeks to promote good professional practice and standards throughout the profession of Cardiology.
Since 2008 Joint Membership of the Society for Cardiological Science and Technology (SCST) and the BCS was available. This allows the society to give it’s members a stronger voice in important matters such as registration and future developments.
Mission Statement
The mission of the SCST is to advance the creation, communication, education and application of physiological knowledge to benefit society and improve people’s lives. We seek to be a voice of the Cardiac Physiologist ensuring that the highest levels of excellence are maintained.
Target Audience
The membership comprises of Cardiac Physiologists and its associated areas at all stages of their professional career.

Membership is only open to those already working in a Cardiological field in Cardiac Physiology or Associated area. Please note that Society membership runs from the 1 January to 31st December each year regardless of when you joined or last renewed your registration. Applications/renewals for the new year will be accepted after 1st November.
